Now You Can Sponsor a Bag
As you know, The Crossing Church is committed to helping out on the third Saturday of every month with “Helping Hands” project in front of Winn Dixie along with New Beginnings, a local homeless shelter. Other churches help on other Saturdays and it is a huge challenge to collect enough food each week to feed as many as 40-50 families.
So, we thought of a way to help out. Sponsor a bag! By sponsoring a bag, you commit to providing one bag of food each month and bring it to the church the Sunday before we are scheduled to help out. (We will give you the dates).
We will give you a list of food as a guide so that we can aim to get similar items in each bag. The budget is $15 per month per bag. Or you can give $15 each month and we will get the bag of food.
Donations can also be brought to Winn Dixie or Wachovia Bank in front of Home Depot or 2nd Life on Rt 27 in Minneola. All have a box to drop off food that New Beginnings picks up on Fridays and brings to the event. Thanks!
The outreach will take place from 11:00 – 1:00 but we also need volunteers to assist with set up around 9:30 and then tear down until about 2:00.
