OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM

Our Leadership Team exists to guide, protect, and serve the Crossing Church family. They meet regularly to pray for our church and seek God’s direction for the future. Here are the current members of the team:
Kendal Anderson,
our lead pastor…

…came to faith at the age of five, and still strives to maintain a childlike trust in God 🙂 He has been with the Crossing since before it had a name (see ‘our story’ for a bit more), and enjoys leading worship, doing dramas and hanging with people at his ‘office’ at Panera to talk about spiritual next steps. He loves to read biographies (currently working through one on Malcolm X) His favorite band these days is Rend Collective and occasionally, he jumps out of airplanes.

He loves the fact that we don’t take ourselves too seriously and can’t wait to see where God is taking us next!
Steve Venturella

..became a follower of Jesus in high school when a friend asked him if he had given his life to Christ. After growing up Catholic and attending parochial school, Steve knew in his head that Jesus was the Son of God, but realized that he had never invited Him into his heart and life! Steve loves working with children in KidzCrossing with his wife and ministry partner, Troyce.

Although their work and school schedules are quite full (both have been working on Masters Degrees), when they get free time they go on date night or make up a reason to visit their son, Andrew, in Daytona. Steve works for Disney (20 years!), and feels blessed to put his music degree to use at least a little by performing in the Candlelight Processional at Epcot each year.

Steve is drawn to the Crossing because “we are a church with a local and global mission to reach people for Christ.”
Tom Whitney

… became a follower of Christ when he was nine and began attending The Crossing when it was only two weeks old. Tom currently serves as a Lead Usher, Tear-down captain and Property Development Team leader. Whew!

He most recently completed the 2018 Boston Marathon and celebrated by spending the following weekend running a 10k on Saturday and 1/2 Disney Marathon on Sunday (even when nobody is chasing him!) and enjoys being on a golf course. Notice he didn’t say ‘playing golf,’ because that would give the impression he knows how 🙂

Tom loves the Crossing “because it feels like home when you walk through the doors. ‘Come as you are’ is truly lived out here.”
